Topic:Building Rich Internet Applications Using Microsoft Silverlight 2.0
Microsoft Silverlight is a cross-browser, cross-platform, and cross-device plug-in for delivering the next generation of .NET based media experiences and rich interactive applications for the Web. In this session, you will learn how to use Microsoft Visual Studio to create applications, how to create UI using XAML markup and code, how to build a custom control, how to retrieve data from a Web service, and how to manipulate data with XML and LINQ.
Presenter: Jean- Luc David is a Microsoft Developer Advisor for the Central Canada region. He is passionate about the community, having established one of the largest IT Pro user group in Canada (Toronto Windows Server User Group). He was also a three time Microsoft MVP and author of five technical books published by Wiley Publishing. His current role involves being a connection point to Microsoft for the breadth of developers in Canada including faculty and students, beginners and advanced programmers in small/medium businesses and the enterprise. Prior to joining Microsoft he was the founder and lead developer for Stormpixel Solutions, a successful software development / operations consulting company. Through his company, for twelve years he has managed Enterprise and mid-market development projects and operational guidance for clients including Corus Entertainment, Sony Music, MuchMusic and Nike.
